In mid 2009, Fallon set out on a mission to give Canberra its first ever tattoo pageant. With Shaggs having previous experience in event management, she decided to drag him on board. It was at this moment, that MISS INK was born.

On November 28th, 2009, Canberra's first ever MISS INK tattoo pageant took place at The Basement, Canberra, to a sell out crowd.
The crowd were treated to 3 rounds of pageantry; casual, swimwear and formal wear. Each entrant scored votes based on their tattoos, outfits and persoanlity/oral presentation.
Judges voting on the night were Chris Cashmore and his wife Jenn from Tattoo Power in Lyneham, popular tattoo artist Chris Reid and MISS INK owner, Fallon. The judges votes determined 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, while the crowds votes determined who received the 'People's choice' award.
The crowd were also treated to 4 bands performances by Soma, Spoil, Friend or Enemy and Perpetual End with a special burlesque presentation by Miss Kitka's House Of Burlesque.

The following girls took out the nights top honours:
1st place: Miss Steph
2nd place: Miss Elly
